The Columbus Lock and Dam East Bank is located in Lowndes County on the Tennessee-Tombigbee, adjacent to Stennis Lock and Dam. Facilities include a boat ramp, three fishing piers, a fish cleaning station, two multi-use courts, a walking track, play areas, an amphitheater and three large covered shelters. Other single covered picnic tables with grills are also available. Gates to the area open at 6:00 a.m. The boat ramp is open 24-hours.

Columbus Marina is located at the 335 mile marker on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, north and east of the John Stennis Lock and Dam in Columbus. This state-of-the-art facility has been awarded the “Clean Marina” designation, and offers boaters a well-located stopping point during their voyage on the waterway. Columbus Marina even offers those travelers wanting to come ashore a courtesy car to help aid in transportation to visit the City of Columbus.

Lake Lowndes State Park offers complete recreational facilities for individuals, families and groups, with award-winning trails including the Opossum Trail – a 5.6 mile trail with a self-guided tour outlining native plants, trees and wildlife in the park. Located on a beautiful 150-acre lake, the park provides limitless opportunities for fishing and camping. Cabins available for rent, as well as facilities for football, tennis, softball, and other organized sports.
This 234-mile stretch connects middle America with the Gulf of Mexico. The Waterway offers numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation including boating, fishing, picnicking, nature trails and playgrounds.
