Friday Afternoon
Settle Into the Story
Few places are better suited for slowing down than Columbus. After checking in, begin the weekend with an evening stroll through downtown, where historic storefronts and century-old buildings create one of Mississippi’s most walkable districts. Browse local shops if time allows before settling in for dinner at Amata, J. Broussard’s or Harvey’s, where a relaxed meal sets the tone for the weekend ahead.
After dinner, continue the evening with a glass of wine at The Tavern Wine Bar or a quiet walk through downtown as the lights come on and the pace of the city begins to slow.

Saturday
History, Art and Time Together
Start the morning at Coffee House on 5th with coffee and breakfast before spending the day exploring the places that have shaped Columbus for generations.
Tour one of Columbus’ historic homes and discover why the city is home to one of the South’s most significant collections of preserved architecture. Continue through downtown on a self-guided walking tour, following historic markers and discovering the stories hidden in courtyards, churches, storefronts and public spaces that have stood for nearly two centuries.
Spend part of the afternoon wandering through Friendship Cemetery, one of the city’s most significant historic sites and the birthplace of Memorial Day traditions in Mississippi. Then head to the Rosenzweig Arts Center to experience local and regional art that continues Columbus’ long tradition of creativity and culture.
As evening arrives, choose another local favorite for dinner before enjoying drinks, dessert or simply another walk through downtown’s historic streets.
