Peter Colasante “The Antiques Dealer to the Stars” Program

Join the Columbus and Lowndes County Historical Society on Monday, March 31 at 6:00 p.m. at The Stephen D. Lee Home, 316 7th Street North for a very special program presented by Peter Colasante “The Antique Dealer to the Stars” and owner of L’Efant Gallery of Georgetown in the District of Columbia. Mr. Colanste will bring several impressive items from his collection including a life mask of Abraham Lincoln, a bust made from the life mask, and the very important painting of “Daniel Webster Addressing the United States Senate on The Compromise of 1850”.

Mr. Colasante describes his gallery as being “like the U.N. of art. Everything in the world is here, every culture, every society.” The same thing might be said of his clients that have included (to name but just a few): Henry Kissinger, Madeline Albright, Ted Kennedy, Nelson Rockefeller, Senator John Warner, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush, Laura Bush, Ethel Kennedy, Walter Cronkite, Elizabeth Taylor, Barbara Streisand, June Carter, Bob Hope, Russell Crowe, Maya Angelou, Dolly Parton, Faith Hill, Peter Max, Andy Warhol, and Lena Horne.
