Friday Evening
Settle Into the Story
Few places are better suited for slowing down than Columbus. After checking in, begin the weekend with an evening stroll through downtown, where historic storefronts and century-old buildings create one of Mississippi’s most walkable districts. Browse local shops if time allows before settling in for dinner at Amata, J. Broussard’s or Harvey’s, where a relaxed meal sets the tone for the weekend ahead.
After dinner, continue the evening with a glass of wine at The Tavern Wine Bar or a quiet walk through downtown as the lights come on and the pace of the city begins to slow.

Saturday
Outdoors and Exploration
Start the day with breakfast before making your way to Lake Lowndes State Park. Spend the morning hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking or simply enjoying time outdoors. After lunch, return to town to visit the Tennessee Williams House Museum & Welcome Center and learn about one of America’s most celebrated playwrights.
In the afternoon, wander downtown in search of murals, public art and historic architecture. Depending on the season, wrap up the day with a festival, concert, farmers market or community event.
Dinner at Brother’s Keeper BBQ offers an easy way to end a full day of exploring.
