Extensive efforts were made to restore the c. 1875 Victorian home to its original splendor, and this National Literary Landmark and Mississippi Landmark now serves as the Tennessee Williams Home and Welcome Center.

AFTERNOON

After lunch, head to Friendship Cemetery. Founded in 1849, the cemetery was the site of the first Decoration Day in 1866, which led to the modern Memorial Day celebration.

Poignant images of the mass loss of life in the Civil War are evident in this quietly inspiring landmark. Rows and rows of marble stones marking the final resting place of 2,194 Confederate soldiers cover the beautiful landscape.
